My Spiritual Journey
My spiritual Journey was a long and hard one, but a rewarding one, it began with pain but led to a connection to transcendent love and joy. I have gone from paranormal exploration to religious experiences, from being called clairvoyant, a prophet, by some, to a more objective mindset today. I used doubt along the way clinging to an objective view of it all, a way to step back and doubt.
Through inspiration and study I found a pattern of comforting perspectives used in communication that help with the pain and unlearn the helplessness caused by trauma. This gave me a path to a more empathetic life using creative, objective, and compassionate approaches. From this came a growing development of virtues: Artfulness from using creativity, Truth from using objectivity, and Goodness from using compassion.
Awareness of sensations and feelings using play with sound, focus on feelings, and expression of feeling was useful. From this I found an escape from viewing the world in subject/object ways. This gave me more freedom from a rigid sense of self.
Our Inner Muse
Our inner muse is our higher self, our mysterious brain, that touches the feet of the absolute truth. Above our dramatic timeline it inspires us to be the hero of love in the story or movie that we call our life. This I call our Artist self. It imagines all we imagine to exist, including our own self. A mystics spiritual journey in rational terms is a journey in relationship with their inner muse.
Too Much Drama
Trapped in our dramatic self, what I call the Kid in us, we burn through our life too quickly. From our traumatic experiences our health is threatened. By taking a rest from the drama, our “monkey mind”, and approaching ourselves and others in virtuous comforting ways, we can heal and grow. Through limiting needless drama in our lives our spiritual journey can lift us to a greater peace and understanding.
Our Emotional Kid Self and Our Imaginative Artist
Our present Kid self lives in a dramatic timeline. Into that timeline our Artist self reaches into our past as our Caregiver Self to comfort and heal us. It reaches into our future as our Counselor. Each of these are points of comfort for our present self, giving us the feeling that our past and our future are safe places to visit. From this we heal and grow.
The Artist reaches in these ways from a point above our timeline. There the whole story of our life can be appreciated as one would a movie, a place of enjoyment, of bliss, a place of popcorn and a movie. And from there the Artist gives us a growing heavenly hug. Spiritual journeys bring a sense of comfort for us. They are a place of inner peace in our sense of time.
Who is Our Artist?
Observing carefully and studying, we see that our Artist self, is the personification of our brain, our higher self. It plays all the parts in our dreams, and in our imaginations, even the part we call ourselves. Experiencing such communications I call Inner Mind Communication, and The Path of the Mystic. Through following this path we find an experience of greater creativity, objectivity, and compassion, as well as self transcendence. Such an inner communication and path is a spiritual one. Through this we find a path of great caring. Ultimately, as the Beetles sang, love is all you need.
My Training
My training in this, or so it seems, came from my journey in life. Later the inspiration that ignited all the understanding I have today was from my experience in the Catholic spirit filled movement. Because of that experience I seemed to have met a very different Jesus than the one who was about human sacrifice to a hateful God. My spiritual journey helped me feel a warm friendship with this Jesus.
Giving My Artist Voice
As I let my inner Artist have voice, amazing compassion followed. Because I listened I also found knowledge that I could not ascribe a source to which seemed paranormal. That voice was full of humor, love and uplifting mission, totally non judgmental and open to all forms of true love. In my spiritual journey I remember the powerful love of my Artist, and it is so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.
A Prayer to the Artist
However, I didn’t like being that voice for others, it felt imperfect. So I asked my Artist how to help people find their own connection to him. I was given three inner dialogues and told to study and grow the concept. I asked, isn’t that leaving you out? The reply was “No, you are just asking people to go around a corner where you know I am.” My spiritual journey found a divine love that was embracing, humble, and kind.
Currently in My Life
I keep that relationship, that imagined connection, to this day. Because of that relationship I bow out of letting people think they need me to find the wonder and the power of love that lives in them, because I know they must find this wonder themselves. I am also of the mind that teachers who don’t are not raising the children of this world well. I hope my spiritual journey helps me to be as humble and kind as my inner Artist seems to be.
Giving Divine Titles
In regard to using titles I believe they should be functional and not honorary. Because of this I am to led to think that before we call someone guru, or reverend, we might consider why anyone would want to be called such. I believe that the only true guru is found in our working together in mutual respect and love, and not in any individual. I don’t believe a spiritual journey will take one to a place of feeling superior in a world in which love rules and value is seen in both giving and receiving love.
A mystic is someone on this journey, and a mystic is never perfect. A mystic is a teacher, not a god. I feel my teachers have been many.
Caring Teachers and Loving Democracies
I believe that caring teachers are encouraged in a loving empathetic democracy. And it is where they are most likely to feel at home. May we defend such democracies, and may God, the absolute truth personified, bless them all.
Listen
Soft, do you hear the voice of your inner Artist calling to you? That one is calling you to be the hero of love in the wonderful dramatic story that is your life.
Rise Up Hero
Feel it, you are wonderful beyond your imagination. Honor that wonder in life, others and yourself. Your Artist is already on a mountain seeing visions of a love that transcends death itself. See through those eyes.
